EUROPEAN CULTURES

I stopnia stacjonarne (w j. angielskim)

Opis kierunku:

The undergraduate program aims at equipping students with both theoretical knowledge about the past and origins of European cultures and conceptual tools to analyse cultural phenomena of nowadays societies.

Flexibly organized set of courses (only few are obligatory, most of them elective by students) may present in synthetic picture of cultural diversity of the Continent. Students will learn consequences caused by cultural phenomena for past and contemporary social life in Europe. Consequences, which were and are visible in various sphere of life: starting with everyday life, through economy, psychological background of social movements, up to political and administrative systems. Lectures focus on universal laws and manifestations of cultural life of human societies but with a clear emphasis on specific elements of European past and present day situation.

Students will be invited to make a common journey through European cultural heritage to learn how to analyse and understand not only the meaning of fine arts’ objects, but mostly social phenomena based upon cultural relations. Therefore the proposed curriculum of study is focused on analysis of communication systems, values’ transfer mechanisms, meaning of symbolic structures used in both everyday life and politics, cultural and political history seen as an impulse for change in social life etc. Participation in the program should strengthen students’ knowledge of European culture and civilisations in context of social life and social needs.

Our students will have an unique opportunity to attend the interdisciplinary course, consisted of lectures and seminars of ancient archaeology, cultural studies, history of art, history of Poland and Europe, social psychology, cultural and classical pedagogy and others. After completing studies students can be able to translate different cultural codes of communications, organize cooperation between members of societies of different European cultures and promote understanding of cultural differentiation in social life as the only way to peaceful development in nowadays world.

A graduate will be a suitable candidate to vast range of workplaces demanding mediation between people and organizations of different cultural capitals: in Human Resources and Public Relations departments of multinational corporations and public administration, in cultural institutions and in tourism, last, but not least, in journalism.

The European Culture program is intended for both European citizens as well as students from other parts of the world. The curriculum of the program is designed to open possibility for all interested in cultural life of the Continent to consciously participate in European social and cultural life. Which means that candidates are not expected to possess detailed knowledge of an academic nature, but to be open minded and curious enough to work together to understand cultural and social world around them. All courses will be provided in English. The rules concerning payment of tuition are regulated by the relevant rules of the University of Wrocław.

Rekrutacja 2023/2024:

Warunkiem przyjęcia na studia jest:

a) posiadanie świadectwa uprawniającego do podjęcia studiów,

b) przedstawienie zaświadczenia potwierdzającego znajomość języka angielskiego minimum na poziomie B2 w skali Rady Europy. Potwierdzeniem znajomości języka angielskiego jest dokument, o którym mowa w załączniku Nr 2 do uchwały nr 109/2022.

Z obowiązku przedstawienia zaświadczenia potwierdzającego znajomość języka angielskiego zwolnieni są kandydaci:

– dla których język angielski był językiem wykładowym w ukończonej szkole średniej lub na ukończonych   studiach,

– dla których język angielski jest językiem ojczystym,

– którzy zdali maturę z języka angielskiego na poziomie rozszerzonym co najmniej na 80%,

– którzy w trakcie studiów zdali egzamin z języka angielskiego na poziomie B2 i jest on wykazany w   suplemencie do dyplomu)

c) pozytywna formalna ocena aplikacji przez koordynatora wydziałowego (dotyczy tylko świadectwa  uzyskanego za granicą).

The admission requirements for this field of study include:

a) possession of a high school certificate to undertake studies,

b) presentation of a certificate of proficiency in English of at least level B2 on the Council of Europe scale. Confirmation of knowledge of the English language shall be provided by the document referred to in Appendix No. 2 to 109/2022 resolution.

Candidates are exempted from the requirement to provide the confirmation of the English language skills:

– for whom English was the language of instruction in a completed secondary school or completed studies,

– for whom English is the mother tongue,

– who have passed the English during the Matura Exam at an extended level with at least 80%,

– who have passed the English language examination at B2 level during studies and this is shown in the diploma supplement,

c) positive formal assessment of the application by the faculty coordinator (applies only to diploma obtained abroad).

 


 

Rekrutacja 2024/2025:

Warunkiem przyjęcia na studia jest:

a) posiadanie świadectwa uprawniającego do podjęcia studiów,

b) przedstawienie zaświadczenia potwierdzającego znajomość języka angielskiego minimum na poziomie B2 w skali Rady Europy. Potwierdzeniem znajomości języka angielskiego jest dokument, o którym mowa w załączniku Nr 2 do uchwały nr 171/2023.

Z obowiązku przedstawienia zaświadczenia potwierdzającego znajomość języka angielskiego zwolnieni są kandydaci:

– dla których język angielski był językiem wykładowym w ukończonej szkole średniej lub na ukończonych studiach,

– dla których język angielski jest językiem ojczystym,

– którzy zdali maturę z języka angielskiego na poziomie rozszerzonym co najmniej na 80%,

– którzy w trakcie studiów zdali egzamin z języka angielskiego na poziomie B2 i jest on wykazany w suplemencie do dyplomu)

c) pozytywna formalna ocena aplikacji przez koordynatora wydziałowego (dotyczy tylko świadectwa uzyskanego za granicą).

I. Wymagane dokumenty na studia I stopnia i jednolite magisterskie 🔽

Kandydaci na studia I stopnia lub jednolite studia magisterskie (stacjonarne i niestacjonarne) znajdujący się na liście zakwalifikowanych do złożenia dokumentów są zobowiązani do dostarczenia, w terminach określonych w zakładce „Miejsce składania dokumentów”, następujących dokumentów:

  1. podania o przyjęcie na studia wydrukowanego z systemu IRK i podpisanego przez kandydata;
  2. kserokopii świadectwa dojrzałości wraz z dodatkiem jeśli stanowi integralną część świadectwa oraz oryginałem do wglądu, celem potwierdzenia zgodności przez Komisję Rekrutacyjną;
  3. w przypadku kandydatów z maturą międzynarodową 2022 oraz tegorocznych absolwentów szkół średnich zagranicznych – zaświadczenie ze szkoły, przetłumaczonego na język polski, o przystąpieniu do egzaminu maturalnego i jego wyniku;
  4. zaświadczenie o znajomości języka angielskiego co najmniej na poziomie B2 potwierdzona ważnym certyfikatem językowym. Z obowiązku przedstawienia wyników egzaminu zwolnieni są kandydaci, dla których język angielski był językiem wykładowym w szkole średniej lub na studiach, lub jest językiem ojczystym oraz ci, którzy maturę z języka angielskiego na poziomie rozszerzonym zdali co najmniej na 80%;
  5. w przypadku kandydatów niepełnoletnich w chwili składania dokumentów  – oświadczenia rodziców/opiekunów prawnych. W przypadku złożenia oświadczenia przez jednego z rodziców, należy dołączyć skan aktu zgonu albo dokumentu o pozbawieniu praw rodzicielskich drugiego rodzica. W przypadku opiekunów należy załączyć również skan orzeczenia sądowego potwierdzającego status opiekuna.

II. Wymagane dokumenty dla kandydatów legitymujących się wydanym za granicą świadectwem ukończenia szkoły średniej lub innym dokumentem uprawniającym do ubiegania się o przyjęcie na studia 🔽

Kandydaci legitymujący się wydanym za granicą świadectwem ukończenia szkoły średniej lub innym dokumentem uprawniającym do ubiegania się o przyjęcie na studia, znajdujący się na na liście zakwalifikowanych do złożenia dokumentów, zobowiązani są do dostarczenia w terminach określonych w zakładce „Miejsce składania dokumentów”, następujących dokumentów:

  1. podania o przyjęcie na studia wydrukowanego z systemu IRK i podpisanego przez kandydata;
  2. kserokopii zalegalizowanego lub opatrzonego apostille świadectwa ukończenia szkoły średniej wraz z dodatkiem jeśli stanowi integralną część świadectwa wraz z oryginałem do wglądu celem potwierdzenia zgodności przez Komisję Rekrutacyjną;
  3. tłumaczenia na język polski lub angielski dokumentów, o których mowa w pkt 2,;
  4. zaświadczenie o znajomości języka angielskiego co najmniej na poziomie B2 potwierdzona ważnym certyfikatem językowym . Z obowiązku przedstawienia wyników egzaminu zwolnieni są kandydaci, dla których język angielski był językiem wykładowym w szkole średniej lub na studiach, lub jest językiem ojczystym oraz ci, którzy maturę z języka angielskiego na poziomie rozszerzonym zdali co najmniej na 80%;
  5. w przypadku kandydatów niepełnoletnich w chwili składania dokumentów  – oświadczenia rodziców/opiekunów prawnych. W przypadku złożenia oświadczenia przez jednego z rodziców, należy dołączyć skan aktu zgonu albo dokumentu o pozbawieniu praw rodzicielskich drugiego rodzica. W przypadku opiekunów należy załączyć również skan orzeczenia sądowego potwierdzającego status opiekuna.

*Kandydaci na studia legitymujący się świadectwem ukończenia szkoły średniej wydanym w:

  1. innych państwach niż państwa członkowskie Unii Europejskiej, państwa  członkowskie Organizacji Współpracy Gospodarczej i Rozwoju (OECD), państwa członkowskie Europejskiego Porozumienia o Wolnym Handlu (EFTA) tj.: z Australii, Austrii, Belgii, Bułgarii, Chile, Chin, Chorwacji, Cypru, Czech, Danii, Estonii, Finlandii, Francji, Grecji, Hiszpanii, Irlandii, Islandii, Izraela, Japonii, Kanady, Korei, Lichtensteinu, Litwy, Luksemburga, Łotwy, Malty, Meksyku, Holandii, Niemiec, Norwegii, Nowej Zelandii, Portugalii, Rumunii, Słowacji, Słowenii, Szwajcarii, Szwecji, Turcji, USA, Węgier, Wielkiej Brytanii, Włoch;
  2. państwach, z którymi Polska nie ma zawartych umów międzynarodowych o wzajemnym uznawaniu świadectw i dyplomów (lista zawartych przez Polskę umów międzynarodowych znajduje się na stronie Ministerstwa Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego)

zobowiązani są, poza dokumentami wymienionymi w pkt II, dodatkowo złożyć decyzję administracyjną, wydaną przez właściwego Kuratora Oświaty, o uznaniu świadectwa lub innego dokumentu wydanego za granicą za dokument uprawniający do ubiegania się o przyjęcie na studia wyższe w Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej. W przypadku braku takiego dokumentu, kandydat składa pisemne zobowiązanie do dostarczenia go w terminie nie dłuższym niż do końca pierwszego semestru studiów.

III. Wymagane dokumenty dla cudzoziemców 🔽

Cudzoziemcy oprócz dokumentów, o których mowa w pkt II składają dodatkowo:

1.oświadczenia o posiadaniu polisy ubezpieczeniowej na wypadek choroby na okres kształcenia w Polsce albo Europejskiej Karty Ubezpieczenia Zdrowotnego albo umowy z NFZ. W przypadku braku wymienionych wyżej dokumentów na etapie rekrutacji dopuszcza się możliwość złożenia przez kandydata zobowiązania do przedłożenia tych dokumentów w terminie późniejszym;

2. kserokopię dokumentu potwierdzającego możliwość podjęcia i odbywania studiów na zasadach o których mowa w art. 324 ust 2 ustawy Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym i nauce wraz z oryginałem do wglądu celem potwierdzenia zgodności przez Komisję Rekrutacyjną;


IV. Złożenie dokumentów 🔽

Wszystkie dokumenty powinny być złożone (dostarczone) w miejscu, terminie i godzinach wskazanych w zakładce „Miejsce składania dokumentów”. Niedopełnienie tego obowiązku spowoduje nieprzyjęcie kandydata na studia.

Komisja Rekrutacyjna na wniosek zainteresowanego potwierdza złożenie kompletu dokumentów i na podstawie przeprowadzonego postępowania rekrutacyjnego oraz złożonych dokumentów ogłasza listy przyjętych.

Kandydat nie ma obowiązku składania dokumentów osobiście. W przypadku składania ich za pośrednictwem poczty lub kuriera wymagane jest notarialne poświadczenie kserokopii dokumentów, o których mowa w pkt II 2  oraz III. Dokumenty mogą również zostać doręczone przez osoby trzecie na podstawie pełnomocnictwa udzielonego przez kandydata lub przez złożenie notarialnie poświadczonych kserokopii dokumentów, o których mowa w pkt II 2 oraz III.

Dokumenty muszą dotrzeć na uczelnię w terminie określonym w harmonogramie – decydująca jest data dostarczenia dokumentów, a nie data stempla pocztowego czy termin nadania przesyłki. Niedopełnienie obowiązku złożenia dokumentów na wyżej określonych zasadach spowoduje nieprzyjęcie kandydata na studia.

Kandydaci znajdujący się na liście zakwalifikowanych do złożenia dokumentów zobowiązani są do złożenia wszystkich wymaganych dokumentów w terminie określonym w harmonogramie rekrutacji. Miejsce na liście zakwalifikowanych do złożenia dokumentów nie gwarantuje miejsca na liście przyjętych na studia.


W przypadku rezygnacji z podjęcia studiów złożone dokumenty wydawane są na pisemny wniosek kandydata (wzór rezygnacji z podjęcia studiów) do rąk własnych, bądź upoważnionej przez niego osobie lub odesłane pocztą za zwrotnym potwierdzeniem odbioru.


V. Zdjęcie do Elektronicznej Legitymacji Studenckiej 🔽

Zdjęcie do Elektronicznej Legitymacji Studenckiej, które dołącza się w procesie rejestracji w systemie IRK powinno spełniać następujące wymogi:

  1. zdjęcie elektroniczne powinno być aktualne, kolorowe, o rozdzielczości 500 x 625 pikseli w formacie JPG,
  2. Zdjęcie powinno spełniać wymogi do dowodu osobistego tj.: bez nakrycia głowy, okularów z ciemnymi szkłami, głowa frontalnej z zachowaniem równomiernego oświetlenia twarzy.
    Osoba z wrodzonymi lub nabytymi wadami narządu wzroku może załączyć fotografie przedstawiające osobę w okularach z ciemnymi szkłami, a osoba nosząca nakrycie głowy zgodnie z zasadami swojego wyznania – fotografię przedstawiającą osobę z nakryciem głowy.
    Dokumentem poświadczającym uprawnienie do załączonej fotografii przedstawiającej osobę w okularach z ciemnymi szkłami jest orzeczenie o stopniu niepełnosprawności osoby z powodu wrodzonej lub nabytej wady narządu wzroku, wydane zgodnie z przepisami o orzekaniu o niepełnosprawności i stopniu niepełnosprawności.
    Dokumentem poświadczającym uprawnienie do załączonej fotografii przedstawiającej osobę w nakryciu głowy jest zaświadczenie o przynależności wyznaniowej.

I. Required documents for the candidates for the studies of the 1st cycle programme or the long-term Master’s degree studies 🔽

Candidates for the studies of the first cycle programme or the long-term Master’s degree studies included on the list of documents qualified for submission are required to submit the following documents by the due date specified in the Recruitment Time Schedule:

  1. the admission application for studies printed from the IRK system and signed by the candidate;
  2. a copy of the high school graduation certificate [pol.“świadectwo dojrzałosci” –  direct translation – “maturity certificate”] in order to confirm compliance by the Recruitment Commission;
  3. In the case of the candidates with the International Baccalaureate Diploma 2019 and this year’s foreign secondary school graduates – a certificate from the school on taking the secondary school leaving [matura] exam, translated into Polish;
  4. a certificate of English at least at B2 level confirmed with a valid  language certificate. These candidates are exempted from the obligation of presenting the exam results, for whom English was the language of instruction in the secondary school or on studies or [it is] their native language, as well as these, who passed English at extended level with at least 80% on the secondary school final examination [matura],
  5. Consent of parents/legal guardians to take up studies by a minor at the University of Wrocław

II. Required documents for the candidates who have the[general]certificate of secondary education issued abroad or another document authorising them to be admitted to studies 🔽

The candidates who have the[general]certificate of secondary education issued abroad or another document authorising them to be admitted to studies, who are on the list of documents qualified for submission are required to submit the following documents by the due date specified in the Recruitment Time Schedule:

  1. the admission application for studies printed from the IRK system and signed by the candidate;
  2. a copy of the legalised or certified by apostille certificate or another document authorising to be admitted to studies together with the original for [its] review in order to confirm compliance by the Recruitment Commission;
  3. translation of the documents into Polish or English, referred to in the point 1, made by a sworn translator;
  4. a certificate of English at least at B2 level confirmed with a valid language certificate. These candidates are exempted from the obligation of presenting the exam results, for whom English was the language of instruction in the secondary school or on studies or [it is] their native language, as well as these, who passed English at extended level with at least 80% on the secondary school final examination [matura],

*The candidates, who have [general] certificate of secondary education issued in:

  1. the other countries that the member states of the European Union, the member states of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)., the member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) i.e.: from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Island, Israel, Japan, Canada, Korea, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Latvia, Malta, Mexico, Holland, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, USA, Hungary, Great Britain, Italy;
  2. the countries, with which Poland has not concluded the international contracts on mutual recognition of certificates and diplomas (the list of the international contracts concluded by Poland is on the website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education)

Apart from the documents listed in the point II, they are also obliged to submit an administrative decision, issued by the proper School Superintendent, on recognition of a certificate or another document issued abroad as the document authorising eligibility for higher education. In the absence of such a document, the candidate submits a written obligation to deliver it within the time limit not longer than until the end of the first semester of the studies.

III. Required documents for the Foreign candidates 🔽

Apart from the documents referred to in the point II, the foreigners also submit:

  1. a statement on having an insurance policy in the event of illness for the period of education in Poland or the European Health Insurance Card or an agreement with the National Health Fund [pol. NFZ]. In the absence of the above-mentioned documents at the recruitment stage, the candidate may submit an obligation to submit these documents at a later date;
  2. a copy of the document confirming eligibility to start and pursue studies on the principles , referred to in the art. 324 of the Act on Higher Education and Science together with the original  in order to confirm compliance by the Departmental Recruitment Commission;

IV. Submission of documents 🔽

All documents should be submitted (delivered) in a place, date and time indicated in the schedule. Failing to meet this obligation will cause that a candidate will not be admitted to the studies.

The Recruitment Commission, at the request of the person concerned, confirms submission of the set of documents and publishes the lists of admitted [students].

The candidate is not obliged to submit the documents in person. If you submit them by post or courier, it is required to notarially certify the copies of documents, referred to in the points II 2, as well as III. The documents can also be delivered by third persons on the basis of the power of attorney granted by the candidate or by filing notarially certified copies of documents, referred to in the points II 2, as well as III.

The documents must be delivered at the university within the time limit specified in the schedule-the date of delivering the documents serves as proof and not the postmark date or the date of letter shipment. Failing to meet the obligation regarding submission of documents on the aforementioned principles, shall cause that a candidate will not be admitted to the studies.

Candidates on the list of documents qualified for submission are required to submit all required documents within the time limit specified in the recruitment schedule. A place on the list of documents qualified for submission does not guarantee a place on the list of admitted students.


If you resign from studies, the submitted documents will be given in person upon a written request of the candidate (template of waiver) or to a person authorised by him or her or sent back by post with acknowledgement of receipt.


V. A photo to the Electronic Student ID 🔽

A photo to the Electronic Student ID, which is attached in the recruitment process in the IRK system should meet the following requirements:

  1. an electronic photo should be valid, colourful, with the resolution of 500 x 625 pixels in the JPG format,
  2. The photo should meet the requirements regarding the identity document i.e.: bareheaded, without dark-lensed glasses, a head in frontal position with evenly lit face.
    The person with congenital or acquired vision defect can attach a photo presenting a person in dark-lensed glasses and a person wearing the headgear according to the principles of his or her religion – a photo presenting a person wearing the headgear.
    The document certifying the authorisation to the attached photo presenting a dark-lensed person is the certificate on the degree of disability due to congenital or acquired vision defect, issued in compliance with the provisions on determining disability and degree of disability.
    The certificate of religious affiliation is the document certifying entitlement to the attached photo presenting a person wearing the headgear.

Opłata dla obywatela Polski i Unii Europejskiej dotyczy także:

1/ cudzoziemca – obywatela państwa członkowskiego Unii Europejskiej, Konfederacji Szwajcarskiej, Norwegii lub Islandii (państw członkowskich Europejskiego Porozumienia o Wolnym Handlu – EFTA) – strony umowy o Europejskim Obszarze Gospodarczym i członków ich rodzin, mieszkających na terytorium Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej;

2/ cudzoziemca, któremu udzielono zezwolenia na pobyt stały, lub rezydenta długoterminowego Unii Europejskiej;

3/ cudzoziemca, któremu udzielono zezwolenia na pobyt czasowy w celu połączenia się z rodziną;

4/ cudzoziemca, który posiada status uchodźcy nadany w Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej albo korzysta z ochrony czasowej albo ochrony uzupełniającej na terytorium Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej;

5/ posiadacza ważnej Karty Polaka lub osoby, której wydano decyzję w sprawie stwierdzenia polskiego pochodzenia;

6/ cudzoziemca będącego małżonkiem, wstępnym lub zstępnym (dzieckiem, wnukiem) obywatela Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej, mieszkającym na terytorium Polski.

Obywatele polscy mogą uiszczać opłaty w PLN.
Cudzoziemcy, od drugiego roku studiów, mogą uiszczać opłaty w PLN.

Wysokość opłaty w PLN ustala się według średniego kursu złotego w stosunku do euro, ogłaszanego Obwieszczeniem Prezesa Urzędu Zamówień Publicznych z dnia 3 grudnia 2021 r. w sprawie aktualnych progów unijnych, ich równowartości w złotych, równowartości w złotych kwot wyrażonych w euro oraz średniego kursu złotego w stosunku do euro stanowiącego podstawę przeliczania wartości zamówień publicznych lub konkursów – w roku dokonywania płatności (informacja o kursie złotego znajduje się również na stronie BIP Uniwersytetu https://bip.uni.wroc.pl/516/288/sredni-kurs.html).

 

 Tuition fees for Polish and European Union citizens also apply to:

1/ a foreigner – a citizen of a Member State of the European Union, the Swiss Confederation, Norway or Iceland (Member States of the European Free Trade Agreement – EFTA) – a party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and their family members residing in the territory of the Republic of Poland;

Polish citizens can pay fees in PLN.
Foreigners, from the second year of study onwards, may pay fees in PLN.

The amount of the fee in PLN is established according to the average PLN/EUR exchange rate, as announced in the announcement of the President of the Public Procurement Office of 3 December 2021 on the current EU thresholds, their equivalents in PLN, the PLN equivalent of the amounts expressed in EUR and the average PLN/EUR exchange rate constituting the basis for converting the value of public contracts or competitions – in the year of payment (information on the PLN/EUR exchange rate can also be found on the BIP website of the University of https://bip.uni.wroc.pl/516/288/sredni-kurs.html).
